When I finished the rough shaping of this award, there was a small horizontal branch crossing the surface that looked like a tie clip. So, I had to make the neck line to go with it. A striking formally dressed award.

This piece of elm had a natural dark diagonal line on the lower portion of the vase. I extended that line by createing an organic overlapping fold extending to the rim.
